Back to some Weeknotes, maybe the imminent spring sunshine will give me a bit of consistency in these.

I’m back to delivering some project work 2.5 days per week. Its been a while so quite nice to get back in the saddle (apart from the admin) and I’m super excited to be working on a project related to my old world of planning but in the digital space. I’m in full solution mode, and it’s been really interesting to dive back into my old area of expertise. I’m looking forward to seeing the project take shape and how we can build on the momentum in this area as more councils start developing their maturity in the digital planning space.

I attended an Institute of Economic Development (IED) board meeting, and it was great to see my colleagues again. It was also the first time I had the pleasure of Tom Stannard as the Chair, and he did a fantastic job. For those of you who don’t know, the IED is an independent, non-profit organization that focuses on promoting economic development and regeneration across the UK. I’ve been involved for about 5 yers and the organisation is doing some super exciting alignment around joining the dots in skills, capavity and local government and the future of work (amongst other things). This is a area of massive interest for me and so dynamic so will be blogging some thoughts on the IED blog shortly.

On Wednesday I hosted our first cross-company growth TPXimpact community of practice CoP. We have an incredible opportunity to bring together skills, experiences, and opportunities for growing impactful and sustainable growth in the consulting, digital experience, and data and insights space within TPXimpact and our collective experience can really bring what i think are unique approaches and solutions to complex systems issues EXCITING TIMES. Big Up Milly and Chris who co-chaired with me; we discussed how we want to work together as a COP, how to be expansive and embrace our diverse experience but keep it focused, and how we can learn and share on regular basis (not just limited to work but interests and forward thinking enabling us to bring our ‘whole selves’ to a problem space). It was a great session, and I can’t wait for our next meeting.

I had a quick scan of the new Proptech funding through local government digital to see which 15 councils were successful in this round. One of them is my old place of work, Greater Cambridge Shared Planning, and I am thrilled for them. We done some really pioneering digital work there and its great to see them continuing on this journey.
Content recommendation of the week:
Listening to Marianne Eloise book Obsessive, Intrusive, Magical Thinking: A Life Lived Obsessively. This is a mind blowing reflective journey into a neurodivergent mind and why its soooooo important to share journeys as the validation and recognition and the importance of diverse mindsets.
Happy Friday….
